The Home of the John B. Stewart Scholarships

The Dr. John B. Stewart Scholarships were established through a bequest from the Estate of John Benjamin Stewart. Dr. Stewart was a university professor at St. Francis Xavier University and a Senator in the Parliament of Canada. Dr. Stewart was a renowned educator who was a mentor to many, whether it was in the classroom or on Parliament Hill.

Any student graduating from a high school in the counties of Pictou, Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, Richmond, Victoria and Cape Breton of the Province of Nova Scotia and accepted into an undergraduate program in Canada is eligible to apply for one of the scholarship.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS CLOSED MARCH 30, 2020.

The Trustees met twice in April 2020 to go through the difficult process of selecting recipients for Scholarships this year. Those who are being offered a scholarship will receive a letter in the mail (they were mailed May 11, 2020).
